Creating Positivity |
We all get stressed. It?s normal. If I could make money out of it I?d make it a full time ca-reer. We stress about loads of things. It?s the job. Relationship. Kids. Mortgage. Money. Climate change. Age. Ozone. Bills. Worrying about the future. The past. The present? What people think. What they don?t think. We don?t sleep. Don?t eat. Get neck pain. Back pain. High blood pressure. Slipped discs. Blood shot eyes and bloated stomachs. Drink too much. Smoke to much. Yell. Snap. Crack and eventually pop.
Pulling back your center can feel like trying to lift a bus with your middle finger. The obvi-ous answer is to not get that stressed out in the first place! But how do you maintain your center when life feels like it?s tearing you apart?
There are many signs telling us we?re going the wrong way. The problem is, we keep look-ing outside of ourselves for something to point us in the right direction. When, maybe, we knew the right direction all along but didn?t have the courage and the discipline to act upon it.
Yoga teaches us that discipline. We learn how to sit with ourselves, and find peace within chaos. By having a daily practice, we learn to focus our minds on the right way to walk into each day. Through our meditations, we learn to be silent observers of our thoughts, and our attachments.
If we put the focus on ourselves, it no longer becomes ok to say, ?you ruined my day? but rather, ?what am I creating to make my day lousy?? It is our mental attitudes that shape our world.
By create a positive mental attitude towards everyone and everything that is going to happen each day, we enter the day with the right frame of mind. We are actively and consciously creating reality.
When you wake up in the morning, bless your day. Send love to everyone you are going to meet that day. To the people that you might not feel love for, send more love. Because there is a reason that they are in your life that day.
Remain in present time. Ask yourself, ?Where am I today?? Play a game with yourself and see how long you can keep your mind in present time without wandering. It is quite ex-traordinary how difficult this task might feel, but with the practice of daily meditations, you can begin to pull your energy back into the present.
Live in gratitude. Gratitude when your cup is full is easy. Gratitude when things aren?t go-ing your way is when it counts. And last, be kind to yourself and kind to your body. Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating healthy foods that promote and energize your body? Did you have the discipline, on this day, to show up for yourself, for your practice, your yoga?
