Report of Teacher
Training Course Feb - Mar 2005
The 25 participants
of class Jan 05 were gathered from all corners of the earth to study
yoga and yoga education. Countries of origin include Ireland, UK,
Australia, USA, Germany, France, Canada, Singapore, Switzerland,
Italy, Spain, Slovanija, Israel, Brazil, Hong Kong. Out Of the 25
students, 15 successfully graduated with first class and 10 with
distinction.
First rank was earned by Rafael Rosa of Brazil, second rank was
shared by Regina of Germany, Boon from Singapore and Lauren from
USA, third rank was Jantima from switzerland, fourth rank was shared
between Daniel (USA), Oj (India), Rashidah (Singapore) and Bobby
(canada) and Fifth rank was Branka (Germany), Rotem (Israel) and
Elena (Ireland).
The course was
a success under the able guidance of Yogacharya Vishwas Mandlik,
the blessings of his inspiration and hard work are received by all
who participate in any capacity with this program. Mrs.Lorraine
Saxena was very much appreciated as a yoga Pravesh Asana teacher,
Mr.Sham Sharma kindly gave his time and devotion to conducting the
advanced asana course. Arvind Jodh, Anand Deshmukh and Michelle
Deslandes worked as co-teacher as well as Office administrator.
Their patience, sincerity & devotion were felt and appreciated
by all. Mr.Gandhar Mandlik accomplished his role as program coordinator
with sincere concern for the needs of each individual as well as
seeing to the needs of the whole. Mr.Vivek karvir was coordinator
for examination. Course examiners were Mr Jayant Damle Mrs. Smruti
Damle and Mr.Arvind Jodh and Mrs. Mira Sharma.
Various lectures
were delivered, prominently by Yogacharya Vishwas Mandlik on Yoga
Concepts, Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Omkar, Yoga as therapy, Obesity,
Hypertension, Back Problems, Yoga for children and applied yoga.
Dr.Prafulla Dorle on anatomy and physiology, Dr.Ashutosh Yardi on
Ayurveda, Mr.Gandhar Mandlik on types of yoga, values of yoga and
esoteric concepts of yoga. Let us not forget Mrs. Pournima Mandlik
lending her kind support to all and sharing her deeply devotional
songs (bhajans).
Everyone enjoyed beautiful scenery surroundings the ashram especially
watching the sun rise and sun set. The area reflects the beauty
and peace we wish to find within.
The karma yoga
for 1 hour in the evening and complete silence during the meals
added to wonderful Yoga Life style effect on the students. A new
experience of true Eastern Yoga Perspective was the theme of the
feedbacks received from the students.
Seva
Scholoarship Fund -
- Donations
were received from Feb-Mar 2005 batch students for Seva Scholarship
Fund.
- Old
but good clothes for the needy people in the near by village Talwade
were received, the kind gesture by some of the students were appreciated.
- Mr.Ludovic
Dumas (France) performed his fantastic and skillful Jugglery presentations
which mesmerized over 300 school children in the near by village
Talwade. The joy and surprise the children derived can not be
explained in words.
